This kiss was a culmination of longing and affection, an exquisite convergence of emotions. As their lips met, time seemed to halt, and the world around them faded into obscurity. It was a gentle yet passionate dance of intertwined souls, their breaths synchronizing in a symphony of desire. Each touch conveyed a thousand unspoken words, whispering promises of devotion and adoration.

The thing that gets to me the most about OceanGate (and there’s many), but… the fact that it’s the fucking Titanic. Like, this could’ve been just a generic failure. This could’ve been about allowing people with more money than sense to go explore the sea floor, see coral reefs from a new perspective, view icebergs from below, whatever.

But no. It’s specifically the Titanic. The ship declared to be unsinkable. The ship whose builders refused to bring enough lifeboats, because it would compromise their aesthetics, and make their rich customers uncomfortable to see them. Which famously sank on its maiden voyage.

And here comes the OceanGate CEO and without a hint of irony, has gone on record saying shit like this:

You know, there’s a limit. You know, at some point, safety just is pure waste. I mean, if you just want to be safe, don’t get out of bed. Don’t get in your car. Don’t do anything. At some point, you’re going to take some risk, and it really is a risk/reward question. I think I can do this just as safely by breaking the rules

And just… if you were writing a story to explore the hubris of rich people, how much more on the nose than that could you get?

No other scene will EVER be the love lock scene in episode thirty-five of Love Between Fairy and Devil. 'And I am... full of thorns' and 'why did you love me until the day you died?' and the sheer anguish and torment he's experiencing, which is matched only by Xiao Lanhua's because we know as the viewer that she is hearing this. It's her inside that body, not the cold and unfeeling 'goddess of Xishan'. The sheer willpower it took for her not to break composure there (and she did, but she turned away to do so). The scene is already heartbreaking, but it's ten times so since we as a viewer know it's her.

The fact that he's trying to move on!! And this is his attempt at that, but all it does is emphasize how desperately he needs her. Because she saw him! And he knows this. She was the first person to see past everything he presented himself as, so he's willing to expose himself, raw and naked on that bridge, with her in his heart. He thinks he did her so wrong, that he's a terrible person and that XLH deserves so much better, but we know that XLH is still there and she's doing what she is because she loves him so much and she never stopped loving him, not because she's angry with him.

And I’ll NEVER be over how he’s so dressed down in these episodes, in simple clothing not befitting of the Moon Supreme. He is no one but Dongfang Qingcang in these scenes, a man mourning the love of his life and ‘lowering’ (without complaint or judgement) himself to someone who is below the goddess of Xishan, and below Xiao Lanhua, because he truly believes he is lesser than her and needs that to be visibly apparent. This is a visual representation of atonement, and for someone like him to humble himself to the point he’s asking to become her servant?

I can't handle it. Scene of the century.
